Meet our Staff

Megan E. Mingone, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner and Director of Education Play Station, Speech Language Pathologist 
Megan is the owner and director of Education Play Station.  She has a B.S. in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and a Minor in Education from University of Florida. She also holds an M.S. in Medical Speech Language Pathology from New York Medical College.  She has worked at various establishments such as Space Coast Early Intervention Center, Blythedale Children's Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, The School for Special Children and as a private practitionerer.  Megan is a member of American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA), Georgia Preschool Association and Kindermusik International.  She is state and nationally certified as a Speech Language Pathologist and treats patients at both Education Play Station and inpatients at Gordon Hospital.

Melanie Weber, M. Ed., Reading and Writing Workshop Instructor, Homeschool Group Instructor
Melanie holds a Master's degree in Reading from Berry College.  She also
has several years of experience conducting Reading and Writing Workshops
with the first graders at Anna K. Davie Elementary in Rome.  In addition
to teaching at EPS, she is currently homeschooling her two daughters,
ages 6 and 8.  She loves to read and is looking forward to the
opportunity to share her love of reading with others.

Susan Scott, Homeschool Group Instructor 
Susan graduated with a B.S. in Physical Therapy but feels called to
teach young children. Susan has 12 years experience with preschool
 and an extensive background in Child Development. She has three
grown children, ages 21, 25 and 28 and is a proud grandmother.
She agrees with O. Fred Donaldson, who says "Children learn as
they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn."

 

 

Sheri Medley – Speech/Language Pathologist

Sheri brings her skills as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist

to EPS. She was a First Honor Graduate at the University of Georgia.  

She obtained her Master’s in Education while attending UGA.   

She is currently employed as a SLP providing therapy to children

and adults. Sheri’s relationship with God and her family bring her

the most happiness in life.

Shannon Higginbotham – Tumbling, Acrosports, Fitness Instructor

Shannon is a natural with kids and her friendly personality is a great asset to EPS.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Education.  She has primarily focused on positions that allow her to interact with young people. 

Christina Fernandez– Front Office Manager
Office Manager...need I say more? Christina does everything in the office from billing, registration, teacher projects and of course is the best "personal secretary" Megan could have.  Christina helped start the Toy Store and now helps manage the details of the Toy Store on top of the office. She is a major assest to EPS and has a personality everyone adores!  
Marilyn and Tom Barnes-Behind the Scenes 

Marilyn and Tom havebeen with EPS from the very start.  Marilyn and Tom arethe "behind the scenes" backbone to EPS. They both have experience with small businesses being that they were the owners of a Door and Trim Company in Florida for over 30 years prior to moving to Georgia.  While they area great asset to EPS, their most valued role here is the parentsto Megan Mingone, the director and owner, and grandparents to Christopher and Gianluca Mingone.  They are truly the world's best "Marmie" and "Papa"!
