Dance with Joy
The goal of this class is to teach children how dance and movement can be an expression of Joy. There is an
awesome God who has given us so many gifts, and dance is one of them. Dance can be used to bring Joy to Gods heart, Joy to
others, and Joy to the individual dancing. The word Joy can even be broken up into an acronym which represents that by putting
Jesus first (J), others next (O), and yourself (Y) last.
Apparel for class: Please have girls come dressed in pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black leotard, and if they would
like a simple skirt (no fluffy leotards or skirts that will get in the way of their dancing, special days will be designated
for free dress day). Girls should also have their hair pulled up into a pony tail, braid, or bun. Boys should come dressed
in black jazz or ballet shoes, loose gym shorts or pants, and loose t-shirt.
Praise Him with Dance
Dance is a beautiful form of art, a fun sport to be involved in, and good exercise, but in addition to these
dance can also be used as a way to praise the Lord. By using ballet, lyrical, and contemporary techniques this class combines
the three forms of dance and places its focus on praising and honoring God with each movement.
